Some recent photos from my Instagram shennans. (Soy eyeone_sh up in there...)

These are two shots from my recently-initiated Instagram antics. I'm posting on there as -surprise,surprise - Eyeone_SH. It's cold as the morning dew and warm as saxophones and honey in the sun!

A friend of mine rolled through L.A. recently. She ended up at the MOCA to peep a much-publicized recent exhibit dedicated to "street" "art" or, more accurately, work by artists who may or may not have done work in or on public spaces that have been or are currently represented by a selection of galleries and moneyed interests. She was amazed at the quality of art "from the streets."

Don't get me wrong, I too dig art from the (literal) streets. These are some flicks from one of my favorite examples of creative work at the street level currently occupying L.A.

These are some more examples of art in the streets I've found while rolling around Los Angeles. (Not sure I can call it "street art" since that term now refers to stuff found inside museums, galleries, private collections, etc. Following similar logic, then, maybe art found on the actual streets would have to be called "indoor art" or something like that.)

More of my previous street art curatorial work here.

Back in 2007 I participated in an exhibit at Crewest dedicated to the L.A. River. I hung a selection of my photographs with wooden clothespins and lined the floor with river rocks. (How conceptual of me...)

So with all this hoopla about 'street art,' I figured I'd scour the city for some art on the streets. These are some examples that caught my eye.
